The delivery of two brand-new Volvo excavators to Poole Docks marks another important step in supporting ongoing work in Jersey. The machines, a Volvo EC27D and a Volvo ECR25D, were carefully prepared and transported to the port, ready for onward shipment across the Channel. Compact, reliable, and built for demanding site conditions, both models are well suited to the varied groundwork, landscaping, and utility projects they are destined to support.

The EC27D offers impressive lifting capacity and stability for its size, making it a versatile choice for contractors who need performance without sacrificing manoeuvrability. Alongside it, the ECR25D brings the added advantage of a short-radius design, allowing safe and efficient operation in confined spaces—an important consideration for many Jersey sites. Together, these excavators represent a strong combination of capability, efficiency, and proven Volvo build quality.

Accompanying the machines is a new Ifor Williams trailer, selected to ensure safe and straightforward transport once the equipment reaches the island. Known for their robust construction and excellent towing characteristics, Ifor Williams trailers are a natural partner for compact excavators, providing reliability both on the road and on site. Also included in the shipment is a new OKB hydraulic hammer, adding further versatility to the package and enabling the excavators to tackle breaking and demolition tasks straight away.

With everything loaded and positioned at Poole Docks, attention now turns to the Channel crossing itself. As ever, the hope is that stormy sea conditions will not delay departure, allowing the equipment to reach Jersey on schedule. Once safely delivered, this new fleet will be ready to get to work, supporting projects with modern, dependable machinery from day one.
