Cornwall-based ACS Building Contractors Limited has invested in a new six-tonne Volvo wheeled excavator, further strengthening its plant fleet with the latest Volvo EW65F. The machine represents a significant upgrade for the company, replacing an earlier-generation Volvo wheeled excavator that Mr Arron Shurvell has operated since 2019.
The new EW65F is the first example of the model to be sold in the UK by Mike Murphy of PES Plant Sales, marking an important milestone for both PES Plant Sales and ACS Building Contractors. The new machine combines Volvo’s compact wheeled excavator design with the versatility and mobility required for a wide range of construction and civil engineering applications.
Arron has specified the EW65F with a Steelwrist Tilt-Rotator System, providing increased flexibility and precision when working with a variety of attachments. The system allows the operator to tilt and rotate attachments, making it easier to position buckets and other tools accurately, particularly when carrying out grading, drainage, landscaping and other detailed work.
Having run his previous Volvo machine since 2019, Arron is already familiar with the benefits of Volvo’s wheeled excavator concept. The new EW65F builds on that experience while bringing the advantages of a newer machine and the added functionality of the Steelwrist system.
The investment reflects ACS Building Contractors’ continued commitment to maintaining a modern and versatile plant fleet.
