Since PES started fitting Geith hydraulic hitches to Volvo EC18E, Volvo ECR18E, Volvo ECR25D and Volvo EC27D that we prepare in our yard the feedback from customers has been an overwhelming ‘thumbs up’. With our previous supplier the reliability of the hitch wasn’t very good due to the design of it. Any dirt or debris that fell into the mechanism would cause the hitch to jam or if the bucket wasn’t changed on a regular basis for customers leaving near the coast, any rust that formed between the pin and the lock would cause the bucket not to be released by the hitch.
We have fitted the Geith hydraulic quick hitch for over 12 months now and have had zero problems and zero complaints. With its triple lock, ISO compliant design with front and rear safety locks backed up by a powerful spring assembly you can be assured that the hitch meets all health and safety requirements and your machine won’t be kicked off site for non-compliance. To be fully compliant you must check that your coupler doesn’t accidently release the bucket when.
- It isn’t connect properly
- The hydraulic cylinder in the quick hitch fails
- There is a loss of hydraulic pressure from the excavator
- Accidently opening of the quick hitch in an unsafe position.
Geith was founded in Slane, Co Meath in 1959 with the first Geith quick hitch coming out in 1980 and since then over 260,000 quick hitches have been supplied. They also make a range of hydraulic tilting quick hitches that give the benefit of a full 180 degree’s of tilting with the same safety features of the standard quick hitches.
