Many thanks to Dr Mark and Elizabeth Dixon who recently purchased a new Cangini TC1-80 flail mower for a Volvo ECR25D. This purchase involves ensuring optimal compatibility, performance, and durability for light-to-medium vegetation management tasks. The TC1-80 is engineered for compact excavators in the 2.0–3.5 tonne class, making it well suited to the ECR25D’s hydraulic capabilities and operating envelope. With an 800 mm cutting width, it provides efficient coverage while maintaining manoeuvrability in confined or urban work sites.

The unit is typically equipped with Y-blades or hammer flails, depending on application requirements such as grass, brush, or light scrub. Integration requires correct hydraulic flow matching, appropriate mounting bracketry, and verification of auxiliary circuit pressures to prevent premature wear.

Robust construction, including reinforced housing and high-quality bearings, ensures longevity under continuous use. Overall, the TC1-80 enhances the versatility of the Volvo ECR25D, enabling contractors to expand into vegetation control with minimal additional capital investment.
