The first ever Volvo 1.5 tonne class zero tail swing is the all new Volvo ECR18E, powered by a Volvo 12kW engine driving a load sensing, flow sharing hydraulic system. The innovative design gives unprecedented access for maintenance with best in class serviceability with 50 hour grease intervals coupled with a high-profile rear cast-iron counterweight wrapped around the rear of the machine with recessed steel panels for added protection in tight working spaces. It has variable width undercarriage to get through narrow gaps and then expanding out for maximum stability. Unlike most compact zero tail swing machines, the Volvo ECR18E driver’s environment does not seem cramped with you sitting ‘on top’ of the levers thanks to the fuel tank being incorporated in the rear steel door the space saved has allowed an enhanced operator platform. The hydraulic hoses are protected by being routed inside the boom so they don’t get damaged with the boom ram mounted on top with the ability to clean up to the dozer blade. There are four easily accessed tie down points and an automatic slew lock so transporting the machine from site to site is safe and easy. Finger-tip controls allow an uncluttered floor with automatic two speed tracking means the operator environment is a safe and ergonomic one.
