As the largest stockists of Yanmar TNV engines in the UK PES have probably got knowledge of the Yanmar product range second only to Yanmar themselves. As the emissions regulations got have got tighter and as from 2019 all construction equipment over 19kW had to be European Stage V, EPA Tier 4 compliant, the use of common rail diesel systems coupled with DPF after-treatment has become the normal method of compliance.
As these engines are over 6 years old we are starting to get more enquiries for Yanmar TNV common rail engines, the main one being the Yanmar 4TNV88C engine. This engine is not the smallest engine in the range, the 3TNV88C is but most manufacturers de-rated the old mechanical governor Yanmar 3TNV88 engine to keep it under 19kW and therefore didn’t have to comply with emissions regulations. For example, the Thwaites 3 tonne dumper used to be fitted with the Yanmar 3TNV-XWA which was a 25kW engine but is now fitted with a 3TNV88-BWWA which only produces 18kW. Same engine just down rated so it doesn’t produce the power that it used to. For those operating these machines fitted with the sub-19kW engine if you had the 2 machines with the two different engines in it you would certainly know it was not as powerful as there is a 25% reduction in power.
PES have recently taken delivery of a batch of Yanmar 4TNV88C engines to fulfil orders and requirements in the future. This Yanmar 4TNV88C is a 2.19 litre capacity engine producing 35.5kW and is a direct injection, naturally aspirated, common rail diesel engine. These Yanmar 4TNV88C engines are fitted to Takeuchi, Sany and Kobelco excavators, Kramer wheel loaders and Yanmar C30-R tracked dumpers amongst other things. Our engines have the PTO aperture on the timing cover and come complete with DPF assembly, stater and alternator.
