Anybody with a Winget or Belle mixer with the older Yanmar L48N engine can now purchase a replacement engine, to the exact spec, from our stock in Exeter. The Yanmar L48N was replaced by the emission compliant Yanmar L48V engine which is a lot more expensive and, crucially, runs a lot hotter than the older engine. This is because it is more dolphin friendly and therefore by burning hotter and therefore producing more heat, the exhaust gas is much cleaner keeping those dolphins smiling. I know you’re going to say that dolphins live in the sea and therefore it doesn’t affect them but they still have to come up for air and if they’re swimming near a building site with an old Lister banging away in the corner it will make their eyes smart.
That’s why the new mixers with the Yanmar L48V engine in them have extra vents in the tinwork to let the heat out, with the hot weather we have recently had if you put a new engine in an old mixer it may get too hot and give up.

All we need to know is if it’s a belle or a Winget as the Belle mixer has to have a mod done on the throttle lever to slow it down otherwise the mixer turns into a centrifuge rather than a concrete mixer.
