Due to emissions the Yanmar 3TNM72 engine fitted to Polaris utility vehicles is increasingly hard to find. Although not discontinued, the Yanmar 3TNM72 is not a currently stocked European engine as it has been superseded by its emission compliant replacement.
As the largest supplier of Yanmar engines in the UK, PES supply replacement Yanmar engines for John Deere Gators, Yanmar 3TNV70, and Kawasaki Mules, Yanmar 3TNM74F and keep stock of both of these engines to supply normally on a next day basis.
For those Polaris customers looking for a replacement 3TNM72, PES are able to supply a converted Yanmar 3TNM74F engine to replace it. These engines have been modified to run without utilising the altitude compensation valve that has been fitted to it to make it emission compliant, without this modification the engine would not be able use its full power and in effect would be in limp mode.
There are a couple of bits that you need to use from your old engine, amongst those being the tip coolant hose stack to change it from a vertical outlet to a horizontal one but as long as you have the old engine this is an easy, quick job to do.
