One of the reasons behind the success of PES is its ability to stay a head of the curve, especially when it comes to the supply of dumper parts for Thwaites, Terex, Terex/JCB and Mecalac parts. As a specialist parts supply company, PES employ people who know what they’re talking about and have this wonderful ability to do what seems very complicated and hard to achieve these days…………. they ring people back and reply to e-mails. How often do you think when you deal with companies these days:

‘I’m really sorry to bother you but do you think I could trouble you by spending money with your company’

Or listen to:

‘Your call is important to us, you are 75th in the queue’ or ‘Sorry, haven’t they rung you back? I’ll leave another message for them to ring you and hopefully they contact you before you die.’

In our Parts Department we turnover over £4 million per annum in spare parts for Thwaites, Terex, Terex/JCB, Mecalac and Barford dumpers. This is achieved with Marc the Parts Manager ably assisted by Dave, Jason, Richard and Tina with a total of over 100 years of experience working here at PES. Oh, and Jason does all the marketing as well. All this is supported by 2 part-time girls in the Accounts Department, Sam doing the Sales ledger and Jackie doing the Purchase Ledger.  How do we do so much with so little I hear you cry? Well for a start the boys know what they are talking about, with years of experience and knowledge they know hundreds of part numbers off the top of their heads which means they are not spending hours looking up numbers in parts books. We have stock, we don’t just buy one handbrake cable at a time we buy hundreds and keep them on the shelf so that means when the enquiry comes through the processing time is really short. Give us an order number and it will be with you tomorrow is the norm, not I’ve got to order it from the supplier, wait 3 days and then when it arrives send it on. With over £1 million of Thwaites, Terex, Terex/JCB, Mecalac and even Barford parts on the shelf, we do our best to keep your dumpers on the road earning money.

PES were the first company to do a proper on-line shop with nearly 100% of our stocked parts for Thwaites, Terex, Terex/JCB, Mecalac and Barford on the it, not just a few fast-moving items, each with a picture and many, such as with cables, with an engineering drawing so you could be confident that you were ordering the right part. Account customers could log-on, all their details would appear they could order parts and their discount structure would be applied in real time not at the point of check-out. Our real-time stock levels are shown so you don’t order a part and then when it doesn’t turn up next day find it’s on backorder.

We also have the ability to look at it from a dealer point of view as for over 10 years we looked after the parts distribution in the UK for Ausa, the Spanish dumper manufacturer. This gave us a unique insight to how other machinery dealerships work, their strengths and weaknesses and what they needed from us where we were effectively the OEM. We carried out this contract during the boom years of Ausa, when Martin Bell and Glenn Pritchard made Ausa the 3rd biggest supplier of dumpers in the UK behind Thwaites and Terex. However, since they left it has been a slow decline and I’m not even sure whether they have an effective dealer network selling machines here as you don’t see new Ausa’s out on site in the UK like you used to.
