‘Why should I buy a Vibroll VM71 pedestrian roller’ I hear you cry?

I know we are biased as we sell them but the reason why is because we reckon it’s the best pedestrian roller currently on the market.

‘What about the Bomag, what about the Mecalac’ you retort. There is nothing wrong with either of those two manufacturers. Bomag have been going for an awful long time and are effectively the benchmark when it comes to vibrating rollers but if we are being brutally honest, with some people you could paint a turd yellow, put a Bomag sticker on it and they would proclaim it’s the best turd in the world. Mecalac produce the old Benford/Terex roller which apart from going from a hand-start Lister Petter to an electric start Hatz is the same roller that its been for 40 years. They then update it and somehow allegedly manage, by some discerning customer’s opinion, to change a good product into a bad one.

So what makes the Vibroll VM 71 pedestrian roller so good? Apart from the balance that it has that operators love, it is technologically far in advance from its rivals.

Engine.

Fitted with a Yanmar L70V, the biggest selling air-cooled engine in the world. Reliable, well built and half the price of a Hatz engine to replace. Electric start but with recoil start back-up.

Transmission

Infinitely variable, hydrostatic, forward/reverse transmission. Heavy duty ¾” Duplex roller chain down to drum.

Vibration Drive System

Hydraulic driven vibrator shaft, no slipping clutch or belt.

Water tank

Plastic tank, easily removeable to wash out. Plastic doesn’t rust so it doesn’t degrade from the inside clogging up the dribble bar.

And it’s designed and made in Britain. I know that doesn’t count for a lot in some people’s opinion but PES think that it’s the same as Thwaites. It’s good to design and manufacture things here, it gives you a warm tingling glow still. Vibroll, just like Thwaites, has sheets of metal go in one end of the factory and complete machines come out the other. It’s not a bolt shop bringing bits in from Outer Mongolia because its cheap, bolting them together and proclaiming it’s made in Britain when in effect it’s only assembled. Every Vibroll VMS71 roller has a big sticker on the from of it proclaiming ‘Made In Rutland’. For all those who don’t know where Rutland is, its no-where near Outer Mongolia, it’s Britain smallest county and is nested between Leicester on one side and Peterborough on the other and they make a good beer as well (Ruddles).

So, if you need a pedestrian roller with a good pedigree think outside of the box and try a Vibroll, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
