As the largest supplier of Yanmar TNV engines in the UK, PES keep the whole range of Yanmar TNV engines from the 2TNV70 in a micro-digger through to the latest common rail Yanmar 4TNV98CT. Most of the Yanmar TNV engines we keep are a generic spec engine which means they are suitable for most applications by just changing a few externals from the old engine to make it to the correct spec. The only exception to this is whether it has a PTO aperture on the timing cover as to change this over on a Yanmar engine takes a good day as the whole of the front of the Yanmar engine, including the camshaft, has to come out to do this. This is normally why we keep PTO and non-PTO Yanmar TNV engines in stock.

One of our biggest selling engines is the Yanmar 3TNV88 fitted into Thwaites 3 tonne straight tip and swivel skip dumpers. Recently PES has managed to secure a batch of 10 Yanmar 3TNV88-BWWA engines which are the emission compliant engines that are currently fitted to production Thwaites machines. These Yanmar 3TNV88 engines are built to the Thwaites spec which means they can be dropped straight in without swapping any parts over, and for those customers in inner cities where the environmental police check emission labels or all plant on-site has to be Tier 5 labelled it means that they are compliant and won’t be kicked off site.

From the batch of 10 we have 5 left so if you have a Thwaites dumper with a Yanmar 3TNV88  that’s banging like a sh*thouse door, smoking like a Beagle in a lab or breathing like a pervert in a playground now is the time to swap them out with the least amount of hassle. However, don’t panic. Once these are gone we have another batch of Yanmar 3TNV88 engines coming in at the start of February from Japan and they’ll have the PTO on but they are generic spec ones so you’ll have to swap externals over as normal.

We’ve always got stock of engines and that’s why PES are the largest supplier of Yanmar TNV engines in the UK.
