As the largest stockist and suppliers of Yanmar TNV engines in the UK and a comprehensive website advertising them we often get enquiries about Yanmar engines from around the world.
In the June of this year we received an enquiry from a customer via our website for a Yanmar 4TNV88 fully dressed with radiator, air cleaner, silencer and a Yanmar control panel and loom. After corresponding via Whatsapp it turns out that the customer was in Ghana, Africa and was trying to find a supplier for Yanmar engines that knew what they were talking about and was trustworthy. It turns out in the past he had bought engines from the UK and what had turned up in Ghana was not what he had purchased and then the supplier ceased all correspondence with them. There’s not a lot you can do when you’re in Africa and someone in the UK has ripped you off without going to great expense with lawyers trying to recover your money.
The customer purchased the Yanmar 4TNV88 powerpack to which we had fitted the loom and panel and utilised a Terex HD1000KR throttle lever with a bracket made in house to act as a throttle control. The customer received the first engine, on time and exactly what he asked for and has since purchased several other Yanmar engines in a short period of time including more Yanmar 4TNV88 fully dressed powerpacks. It just goes to show the power of the internet coupled with a supplier who knows what they are talking about and does exactly what they say they are going to do can boost sales in far flung corners of the globe.
You never know, as well as being the largest supplier of Yanmar engines in the UK if this carries on we might add Africa to that sentence as well!!!!
